Adjacent to the Ringwood train station and opposite the iconic Eastland Shopping Centre, the Department of Transport (DoT) Ringwood Office & Customer Hub is a new state-of-the-art commercial building in Ringwood.

The challenge
With a focus on products that could assist with the maintenance of the building facade, the project required systems that would be able to provide access over the non-load bearing curtain walls.
Systems needed to be of a low visual impact so as to not affect the building aesthetics.
They were also needing the flexibility of a product that could provide basic fall protection and carry out glass replacement when required.

Our solution
Our installer had detailed discussions with our design team who created the complete working at heights and rope access system design.
Rope access needles were connected to a series of rigid rails to provide a mobile system and are simply relocated to the required work area. This ensures that access to the facade is completely catered for.
Needles were selected for their ability to provide access over the curtain wall without any load being applied and are an economical choice when installed on concrete. They are also an effective and efficient way to perform glass replacement .
The rigid rail offers the dual purpose of providing fall prevention when used with a harness and lanyard for operators working at height and near a fall edge. Rigid rails also facilitate use by multiple operators at the same time which will be a huge cost and time saver for the client in future years.
Additional products supplied on this project were concrete mount anchors for additional fall protection and warning signboards.
