Video transcript
This video will cover the Revit library that we at IGS Lean Solutions have created with native Revit families for CADSAFE as part of their extensive Revit library.
In this video, we will focus on the HVAC platforms range, which can be found on the CatSafe website by navigating to the products page and selecting HVAC platforms.
Here, we will show various platform configurations based on their load ratings.
These configurations have been captured in the Revit content. And in this video, we will cover how the Revit components can be placed and adjusted to document the appropriate HVAC platform solution, whether the standard HP 25 or the heavy duty HP 50 to suit your project requirements.
Now jumping into Revit, we have a section of the virtual showroom file showcasing all the relevant components preloaded and placed in a project environment with all the types laid out so you can copy and paste what you need straight from this file into your project.
In this file, there are preestablished views created to allow users to easily assess geometry of the families.
We also have the specialty equipment schedule prepopulated with all the metadata that exists within all the families, making it easy to check quality before adding the content to your live project.
Here are the various HVAC platform families organized by load rating, the standard HP 25 and the heavy duty HP 50, available with either guardrails or screens.
Stand alone line based guardrail and screen families are also included to provide greater flexibility.
These HVAC platforms are all nonhosted families, meaning they can be placed freely and copied and paste from this file into any project.
They can also be rotated before placement using the space bar or after placement using the rotate tool.
Each family includes adjustable parameters to suit your project requirements.
For example, the HP 25 platform has roof pitch and also platform roof offset parameters, allowing the mount to be adjusted to suit the project environment.
There are also parameters to control the visibility of the guardrails on all four sides of the platform.
This can be simply checked or unchecked.
The platform width and depth can be adjusted using the desired platform width and desired platform depth parameters.
You'll notice that there are parameters here that are grayed out. These parameters have rules working in the background to never exceed the product limitations.
The same parameters are also available for the heavy duty or HP 50 for both guardrail and screen versions.
For the HP 50 platform with screens, there are five preconfigured types based on the screen height.
The break supports automatically adjust to suit the selected height.
There is also an instance based parameter called screen material with four material options to choose from.
For more flexibility, stand alone line based families are also available for the guardrail and five screens that can be hosted on the platforms.
Being line based, you can simply pick a start point, drag to the endpoint, and you'll get a rail with all its supports automatically placed.
Align base guardrail family includes parameters to adjust the rail overhang, which controls distance from the end of the rail to the face of the initial post.
The knee rail initially matches the length of the top rail, but this can be adjusted independently using the knee rail parameter.
The line based screen family also includes similar parameters for the screen overhang at both ends as well as the instance based parameter for the screen material.
This is also available in five different heights.
And that's a look at the full range of CACSAFE HVAC platforms in the Revit library.
If you'd like more details or need further assistance, a Revit user guide is available with all the necessary instructions for the entire Kattsafe Revit library.
