Height safety doesn't have to ruin your building design
Learn more about how you can avoid the visual impact of height access systems on your building.

We've heard it before.
Height safety products will ruin the design of our building, it’s not worth it!
Unfortunately, we come across this statement many times during the design phase of projects. Height safety products are often seen as obtrusive and distracting from the design of the building they are installed on.
Many architects and building owners choose not to specify height access products because of this.
But there are many ways to solve this.
)
Powder coating
One of the easiest ways to blend obtrusive access products into your building is to powder coat the products the same colour as the roof or surrounding areas. We can powder coat most products to a Dulux colour of your choice.
This option requires no additional re-work to your building or support structures; it does, however, require extra lead time to ensure the products are painted.
Powder coating also avoids dissimilar metal issues and provides long term durability.

Choosing low-profile, minimal products
If it’s possible, choosing low-profile products such as our rigid stealth rail or our AP135 anchor points provides a virtually invisible solution, and can be placed anywhere and everywhere it’s needed.
Plus, our low-profile products don’t sacrifice on strength; our AP135 top mount anchor can withstand up to 15kN fall arrest loads but only weighs 800g and stands only 48mm high, and our rigid 80 rail can support up to 30kN for glass lifting.
As most of our products are manufactured using high-strength aluminium, we avoid the need for any large support structures or excessive components that may increase the size or weight of our solutions.
)
Flush-mounted designs
Our rigid rail can be mounted flush into the building façade, meaning it’s not visible from anywhere, but it doesn't lose its high-strength capabilities.
This solution is especially impactful where the access systems are required in high-traffic areas or areas that can be accessed by the public, as hiding the product away removes the risk of unwanted injuries or risks.
Keep in mind, if you want a flush mount system, you will need to include the support brackets in the building design plans, and we will have to be notified earlier in the project phase.

Removable or collapsible options
Our davits and needles are designed with 3 key parts and can easily be disassembled and stored away to be brought out when needed. This reduces the visual impact on the days they aren’t used.
We also have a fold-down guardrail option which can be used when extensive lengths of guardrail is required on the outside of a building. Each length can be folded down when not in use..

Involve us early
When we are involved earlier in the project, we can ensure the best products are included on the project and can engineer custom brackets or mounting solutions to ensure the products blend into the building.
If we are notified after a building is already built, we often have to resort to retrofit solutions, which involve external brackets and sometimes large support structures on the building to support the height access products.
