Rope Access
Rope access systems are used to gain access to a façade or workface by vertical suspension using rope access harnesses and PPE equipment. It involves a main working line for access and work positioning around a building façade for maintenance purposes, and a backup safety line used to minimize user risk.

Choosing a fall protection system
When choosing a fall protection system for your building, there are three main factors to consider:
What tasks will need to be carried out?
How frequently will the tasks need to be carried out?
What is the risk associated with the task?
Once these three factors have been determined, you can determine if and where you’ll need a fall prevention system, a fall arrest system, or a rope access system. Use the table below to help evaluate your requirements.
Maintenance Category | Item | Maintenance Frequency | Example Solution |
---|---|---|---|
A Priority | Curtain wall / Signage | Frequent | Facade Maintenance Multi-Directional Fall Protection (Permanent) i.e. Rigid Rail, Rolling Davit Systems |
B Priority | Individual Windows / Louvres | Periodic | Facade Maintenance Fixed Fall Protection (Permanent) i.e. Rope Access Needles, Rope Access Davits |
C Priority | General Facade Access | Infrequent | Facade Maintenance Active Fall Protection i.e. Abseil Anchor Points |
